We're excited to announce the winners and finalists of the Here Awards 2021!
Here 09 is dedicated to our inaugural awards, celebrating some very special houses in Aotearoa now. On the cover: our Best House Aotearoa 2021 – an ethereal addition to a Victorian villa in Freemans Bay, Tāmaki Makaurau by Jack McKinney Architects.
Also winning awards: a small purple A-frame by Glamuzina Architects on the hill in Tairua, the perfect rural home in a Wairarapa paddock by Patchwork Architecture, and a 1970s office block is reborn as an elegant urban home in Ōtautahi Christchurch.
Also in the issue: a clever rework of a 1970s townhouse by Pac Studio, a hot new cafe in Ōtautahi Christchurch, a book on forgotten churches by James Hackshaw and Colin McCahon and our favourite photographers document their favourite things in lockdown.
